Our Mission

The mission of James Madison High School is to engage, challenge, and educate the minds of our students. Our classroom communities inspire and encourage our students to ask questions, seek answers, and take an ownership role in their education. Our educators, staff, and students herald community connectedness within the walls of our school itself, and strive to give back to the communities around us. In our efforts to continue our growth as individuals, all members of James Madison High School ask, “What’s next?” Our collective responses continue to shape us as individuals and grow our academic, athletic, and creative communities.

Principal's Message

Principal Cohen
This year, we are challenging our entire community to ask themselves "What's next?" to elevate themselves to be their next best self. If you would have asked this Madison graduate if she would have believed that one day she was going to be the principal, I would have told them that they were crazy. Holding this prestigious position now is an honor. Watching the community grow and open its doors to the diverse population makes me proud to say I am an alum. Our collaborative community is one that truly believes in the philosophy "What's Next?" When we think we have a good idea, a good formula for success, a good grasp on the current academic climate...we build upon them by searching for even better ones. It is just surreal that I have been part of this community for nearly 30 years.

Mrs. Jodie Cohen
Principal
